Gary Pierson – Youth President
To experience the ministry of Gary Pierson is an experience of love,
impartation, revival, challenge, impact, and edification. Among many
things, he is anointed to usher people into the presence of the Lord,
charge their gifts, and empower the people of God through his revelatory
preaching and teaching bringing spiritual insight into the lives of
Since 2004, Gary has been revolutionizing the student ministry at Bible
World Church. Beginning with only a handful of young people under the
name of “IMPACT,” he challenged them to reach their friends, neighbors,
and classmates. This resulted in services to where over 120 students
were in attendance and many being filled with the Holy Ghost. His youth
group has now been formally renamed to “REVERB” because there desirous
goal is to reverberate the god-called voices of this generation around
Travis Worthington – Youth Secretary
Travis is very passionate about reaching the lost and believes that anybody can win a soul. Travis just launched a brand new church in the Northern Virginia area (NOva Pentecostal Church). Travis is a sough after youth speaker after being a Youth Pastor that inherited a youth group of 7 and within a year and half we averaged 50 in our youth services and had 110 visitors in a year at our youth service. This exciting and relevant student ministry bused in inner city kids that reached 47 kids every week.
Travis loves people and after hanging out with Travis you will NOT need a 5 hour energy drink.
William Bailey – Director of Promotions
William Bailey aka Bucky serves as the Ministry Pastor at The Original Pentecostals in Leesburg, Va. He serves as student pastor and other administrative roles. He and his family moved to Virginia in 1986 where is father began a home mission church in the city of Leesburg. From the young age of 6 he was taught how to reach those who are hurting, and how to build the kingdom God. Born with a nose deformity and other complications, Bucky has been given a gift some might mistake as a curse. God has given him a unique ability to identify with those who feel that they don’t fit in. Bucky is driven by
compassion, and putting others first. At the age of 16 Bucky received the call into the ministry, 2 years later he began serving as a youth leader, and began volunteering with VDYM youth camps. 4 years later he transitioned into the role of student pastor of The Original Pentecostals. In 2003 a dream came true when he married Melinda Carlisle. In 2004 Bucky was appointed to a position with VDYM as a representative and has recently be elected and appointed to the position of district secretary.
As the future rapidly approaches one thing becomes more apparent with each second; time is running out. With every tick of the clock you have the choice to be a witness…Silent or Aloud… Its time that we amplify. Louder than ever!
Chris Fitzwater – Section 4 Representative
Chris was born in Flint, Michigan then moved to East Tennessee at a young age. Chris grew up in Kingsport, TN, under the ministry of Pastor James Tharp who left an indelible impression upon his life and ministry. Chris won’t tell you this but I (Akil Thompson) will. He has amazing vocals and is killer singer! Chris attended East Tennessee State University on a vocal scholarship and traveled the United States with ETSU Chorale and Men’s Ensemble. Chris became the President of the Over-Achievers’s Club when he married the love of his life, Lisa Douglas, on January 13, 2001. In December of 2008, Chris & Lisa moved to Charlottesville, VA, where they have partnered with Pastor Bill Love. Chris & Lisa have been instrumental with the growth and efforts of Lighthouse Worship & Family Center.
Daniel Jones – Section 5 Representative
Daniel Jones is the Apostolics Of Lynchburg Youth Student Pastor, is a vital part of the Music Ministry and Sunday School Team, and assists in general church administration.
He has had a heart for the work of God since he was a young child. Daniel received the gift of the Holy Ghost when he was four years old and began ministering in the Word shortly thereafter. He has preached in churches and conferences throughout the United States and Canada while he traveled with his parents on the evangelistic field. Daniel became a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church at the age of eighteen.
However, Daniel’s heartbeat reaches beyond ministerial protocol and pulpit sermons. He loves souls. In addition to Student ministry, he is heavily involved in street outreach and various events outside the four walls of the AOL Church Sanctuary.
Andy Ferguson – Section 6 Representative
Truth. Hope. Compassion. Love. These are just a few themes that worship leader Andy Ferguson desires to communicate through the music God has given him. Through his songs and leadership on and off stage Andy has a true desire and passion for people to live their lives each moment in wonder of the One who gives real life.
Andy serves as a Youth & Worship Pastor at Gate City UPC in addition to traveling the United States leading worship in various youth, college and young adult capacities.
Oh, and one more thing…. He is the REAL Guitar Hero!
Wade Daffinee – Bible Quizing Director
While stationed with the U. S. Army in Kaiserslautern, West Germany in 1972, the International Youth Corps (IYC) invited him to a Jesus Rally. That encounter led him to Bethel United Pentecostal Church and Barbara Turner (one of the IYC members). In July 1972, Wade repented, was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost. Later that same year, he became the assistant Primary Class Sunday School teacher. In 1975, he was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia. On the way to Georgia, he stopped by Crossville Tennessee and married Barbara Turner on April 5th. In 1982, Wade was stationed in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. While in San Antonio, his son Nathaniel was born September 29th,1982. While attending Castle Hills UPC, he was assigned as the Youth Sunday School teacher and Sunday School Superintendant. In 1984, he was stationed with Computer Systems Command (CSC) Europe in Zweibruecken, West Germany. He and his family attended Bethel UPC (where he was born again back in 1972.) He became a member of the Bethel UPC choir and was teamed with his wife teaching the Junior Sunday School class. He also was the Sunday School superintendant until 1988. He was also chosen to be the assistant Sunday School superintendant during the Annual Military Conference in Berchtesgaden. And in November 1988 he was stationed with Computer Systems Command Lee at Fort Lee, Virginia. He received his Bachelor in Science Degree (Information Systems Management) from the University of Maryland in 1990. He retired from the Army in March 1992. After arriving at Fort Lee in 1988, he began attending Christian Life Center (CLC) Petersburg where he was appointed as Sunday School superintendant, Youth Class teacher, Assistant sound man, service leader, Senior Bible Quiz team coach, Cell Group leader, and a member of the choir. He was also selected to be one of five elders for CLC.
At The Sanctuary, he has served as Junior Class Sunday School teacher, Sunday School superintendant, Education Director, and is currently serving as a Family Life Group servant, Foundations of Faith director and instructor.
In 1990, the Virginia District voted him to be the Senior Bible Quiz Coordinator for the district and still serves in that capacity.
